zombification

This is me if I was a zombie. My wife hates the beard, so I figured it had to be torn off. It is now gone for real though, but in a much gentler way. Here is the before pic.

It was fun turning myself into a Zombie, and I want to do it again. So the first person that emails me their pic I will spend a full half hour or more zombifying you. And then posting it here as well as emailing you a highres version.

a lite snack

2 posts in 1 day is a rare event for me, but I was pleased with this image and wanted something a touch more graphic than the previous one. Its messy as hell because its just straight inks, no pre-planning.

broken hands

So I was sitting at the table drawing like a crazy dude with a blue pencil. Fun times indeed. And then I whipped out my favorite dollarama gel pen and started picking out the lines I liked the best. What do you know, its not too damn shabby. Sure the hands look like they've seen better days, but he is a Zombie after all. What I did notice is that all those pros that have been using a blue pen instead of a pencil are on to a good idea. Speeds things up a lot and stays pretty clean. So that's what I'm going to continue to explore and develop. This guy above is a bit too cartoony for me, but my next dude will be more 'realistic' in a comic sense.

in the ruins

Trying something a little new today. Adding a photo background. It only kind of works, but it was good practice and opens up my head for some new ideas. I have to get a little more bloody.
Also added a top banner ad for the site, hoping to make millions ... or at least enough to buy myself a domain name or something. Still working hard on the zombie story as well as a few other goodies.

waking up

This is me on any given morning. Obviously went to bed much later than I should have only to be woken up multiple times by my eldest 2. My favorite is when I am woken up and informed that they have to do a pee, which they do and then they go back to bed. Wonderful times. So what could have been a 6 hour sleep gets broken up into 4 or 5 naps of varying length.

Bring on the coffee, and lots of it.

headache

A quick sketch tonight. Just a head, because I'm just barely getting ahead.

what a sad and terrible joke. go me!

Anyways. This is my 20th post so thats kind of neat. Doing much better than my other project ever did. Still working on the zombie comic, should be done that this week then I can concentrate more on a few other projects. Plus my scheduling is changing, which will mean more art time which will mean better zombies. WHOYAH!

feeling crappy

These last few days I have been feeling terrible. Head cold, summer flu, allergies, whatever. I felt crappy. Sore throat, headache, nose so stuffed up I couldn't even smell when my baby took a dump. Well, that was probably a benefit, but you get the idea. One nostril is still clogged, and my left knee feels like its on fire for some reason.
Pain. I hate pain.
More stuff coming, hopefully not too shitty.

alf

I know its not a drawing, but its still kinda neat. My doggy has decided to kill alf, and I thought he looked a little zombie(ish). So I decided to share. Got a problem with that? I'll introduce you to my dog.

zombietoon

A little more cartoonish, and damn black and white. This should be colored and if I can somehow find the time I will. Or maybe I will let my daughter color it with her crayolas. Still working on the zombie story, final pencils/inks are started, and working on character sketches for an upcoming webcomic. Busy Busy.

non-zombie

Yeah, its not a Zombie but its still a creature of some unknown origin. That should count for something right? Life is busy, new dogs make it that much busier, and to top it off I am trying to work my ass off with comics. The Zombie 10 page has mostly been approved, so the final work will begin soon. Then the other webcomics are still progressing nicely.

happy easter

Happy Easter everyone. Hope you get lots of chocolate, because everyone knows that easter is all about chocolate eggs and rabbits. God Bless Hallmark.

bodiless

So I am now currently working on illustrating a 10 page zombie story. It's a pretty interesting story, and I nearly have the rough layouts drawn. I've been working on a consistent look for the zombies of this story, and the above is a quick sketch example of the route I'm going to take. I will post more examples as time permits, and once the story is published, I'll tell you where to buy it so that I can get paid.
WhoYAH!

freakenstein

What began as just a normal sketch soon started to take on a life of its own. Then the lights began to flicker and lightening scorched the sky and I shouted " ITS ALIVE !"
I seriously scared my youngest, my second born yelled at me to stop it and my girl giggled. Worst of all my wife gave me 'the look'. If you're a guy and you're married, you know exactly what that look means.

frenzied friday

It has been a long week, and a long day to be perfectly honest. I did some decent work related drawing this morning, but this afternoon/evening its been a struggle. The above is fast, frenzied and done with a crappy pen. HOYAH!

snow zombie

Above image inspired by true events.

And what that means is today, being a rare nice day we took the kids outside. I built a snowman and put it beside the older delapitated snowman, and about 10 minutes later the new snowmans head had mysteriously fallen off. It also seemed that the older snowmans smile was just a little bigger.

I think I've been stuck inside too long.

family bones

This is the first of what will possibly be many family zombie portraits. Who knows? To be fair, it was my wifes idea and she thinks its pretty cool. Drawn last night while playing crib, colored this afternoon with, yes, pencil crayons. In 5 years or so when none of my kids want to play with me, I will then have mega time to color digitally. Right now though, pencil crayons will have to do because hide and seek, dodgeball, car racing and tag take up a lot of time.
