saturday RAGER sketch

It has been a day of yard works, bug battles, chainsaws and road trips to compost heaps. I thought I saw some fraggles ...

This painting was created this evening, but due to feelings of exhaustion it was quite the struggle to create. In the end the hard lines were drawn and the paint was thrown ... the final result is pleasing.

alley way zombie sketch ... now with more brains

It's a cold september morning and my hands are going numb. I'd turn on the heat but that requires the effort of getting up and moving ... instead I painted this zombie in the alley. The exposed brains was a happy accident that came about when the wet paint got stuck on another piece of paper and then tore off, exposing the white beneath.

I don't know what to think about this image or this style but it was fun to do and made me feel better when it was all over. Sometimes its great not to think and just let loose. What do you think? Style worth exploring or not?

allisons zombie monster

I'm busier than I've ever been lately ... it feels like I'm being pulled in 8 directions at once. I'm pleased with it all, don't get me wrong, and I know there will be a time when it is slow again, but DAMN!

Thats about all I will say about that ... to help me out Allison has donated the following image for today. She is learning about construction lines and inking. She's my little prodigy.

This undead dude is the hubby of yesterdays undead dudette ... their marriage vows obviously didn't include 'til death due us part because they're still together after death. Total dedication.

Todays sketchcard was inspired partly by a twitter conversation I had with Patricia Tallman ... she is a zombie killer. The above dude ... also a zombie killer but as with most people during the zombie apocalypse - on his way to becoming a killer zombie. Such is life in the undead world.

more sketch heads

Its a busy day today, and I want to keep the daily zombie daily, so today I am uploading some sketches that I did yesterday. The guy with the slinky arms IS a zombie so I am keeping with the theme. And who knows, I may be coloring one or two of these later on.

Today I am learning a new digital drawing program called Paint Tool SAI . It's similar to all the other art programs out there, but seems to be less of a RAM hog. Runs smooth, no complaints yet. I will try to have some drawings up here later today.

In other news ... its damn cold here and the snow is here to stay.

premature balding

Even worse than male pattern baldness is premature baldness caused by a zombie ripping the hair and skin right off your head. No comb-over in the world is going to hide that.

This was scribbled over the weekend and colored over the last 2 days. The kids have been trying to steal my time away. They have been dealt with.

faces of death

There once was, and maybe still is, a video series called FACES OF DEATH. I watched a few of them over a decade ago and the images I saw have been forever seared in to my brain. I don't really recommend them and the only reason I bring it up is the image above made me think of it. Life's funny sometimes.

Anyways, the image above is 3 different days and 3 different yahtzee games. I think I won at least one of them, but I can't be sure. My wife wins a lot. At a later date I will probably take the girl image and color it in photoshop with the bamboo.

sick sick sick

Its been a week that I wish never was, but am glad its over. My sweet little girl went to her sweet little school and brought home some not so sweet virus. Infected the whole family, including me. Messed up my legs something awful ... H1N1 ? Maybe ... H1Z1 more likely though. Today has been one of my first days back on the computer and in the mood for art. Should be seeing more soon.

zombie doodle

Dude stopped at the local gas bar to fill his car and damn if he did't get bit by some jackass. Sure he stomped the shizzle out of him but it was too late. The infection began and there is only one cure. He hurt his eye fighting with others over a small victims brains.

saTURDay

A sketchbook zombie brought to life with pencil crayons. Because it is much easier to watch the kids and color with pencil crayons than it is to do it on computer. ARgh.

run away !!

I started to draw a group of zombies, but it wasn't quite going where I wanted it to go, so I finished it off by drawing the running guy. Everytime I see people running full tilt it always makes me want to shout ' RUN FOREST!!! '.
But I don't ... usually.
