Making Zombies

Lately I've been trying hard to juggle all sorts of different tasks and projects. It has gotten so bad that I have so many things I want to do and should be doing that I don't know what I should do first so I end up doing nothing. It got to the point where I started to say that even though this idea is cool and some people might like it there will be some that think the worst of me so why even bother. I have begun to defeat myself half way through projects and stop just before they're done.
How did I get to this state? How will I get out of it?

Ive recently cut a big part of my life down to a very little part of it . . . but it still has it's pull. I think that if I keep trying to make work what isn't working,I will literally go insane. It's time to go back to my roots and start with the physical art side of things. Start just hanging out and sharing my art with people that want to see it and buy it just because they like it. I need to scrub my brain from thinking that I am responsible for anything other than making art and sharing it with the world. I need to refocus on the art, less on what anyone else thinks.
Most importantly I need to unplug from the internet and not chase the dopamine of a like, share or comment. I need to chase the dopamine high from drawing a cool zombie at a cool angle that looks cool because I think it looks cool. And then share it where people actually care to see it.
That's it.
Last chance at the art crate is now. (or you missed it)

Mental Shifting

Welcome back to another new episode of the almost Daily Zombie. Not quite there yet, but getting closer all the time. In todays post I'm going to talk briefly about changing attitudes and perception. Mostly mine but maybe others over time.

For the last 5 years I have been making art and mostly posting it to the blockchain. I wasn't a crypto artist but I was an artist using crypto as a platform for selling. It was great and I learned a lot of different things. I fell in love with crypto because it connected me to a huge and hungry for art audience, it was easy to accept micro transactions that helped pay my bills, and most of all it allowed me to connect with and reward and engage with the people that liked my art.

As everyone knows the entire crypto scene went downhill pretty quickly but I hung on and continued to interact with my audience of collectors. Hopium is a helluva drug.

It took a recent interaction online within the crypto community for me to realize that this space has actually been slowly suffocating me in ways that are hard to express properly. Hopium and desperation and desolation. It was happening in slow motion and killing me little by little.

In fact it caused me to stop valuing myself and stop valuing my work.

But this isn't a pity party, because believe me if I started that there would be no end lol
Instead this is a message that I'm changing my life starting today and valuing the work I do and finding those that find the value too. Shifting gears from 100% crypto focused to less than 5%
The time to find my actual collectors of physical artwork has begun.

It is time to unleash the power of the Horde to the world at large. I have a team that is boosting my confidence every day and my eyes are starting to realize what exactly I have built. We're starting with the Horde Loot Crates so they can learn all about global shipping and then we continue to expand.

I'm never going to stop drawing and painting and now I have a team that is dedicated to helping me achieve my goals, things are starting to get fun again and more importantly I'm starting to value myself again.

Inky Zombie Portraits

Hey everyone, hope your day is great. Today I started to draw some inky zombie portraits of people on Threads. So far 2 people submitted their faces to get drawn. So that was cool. I've started to look at patreon for another avenue to post my art at and try to earn a buck or two.
I think I should have given up on my art career a long time ago. I am not making it. lol
damn

But at least it's fun still right?
If you want to get drawn, drop your face in the comments or find me on the socials.

The Merch on Display

Praise the Horde the necrotic eagle has landed in Michigan and safely into the hands of the newly formed HORDE / BYRON merch division. Never in my life have I had complete strangers come into my life and fill the holes that have plagued me for years. What began as a commissioned artwork turned into a mutually beneficial adventure to bring my artwork of the Horde out to you, the Horde.

Art is starting to feel fun again as I begin to get much more social around the socials and will soon start my livestreaming sessions.

Mean while the Horde Merch division is creating the first every Horde Loot Crate and while we work on our website integration we have orders through Byron's Ko-fi page. Go here to place your order.

We're going to try to make these loot crates fun and somewhat interactive to keep things interesting and different each and every month. We're also going to try to personalize things over time to give you art that you connect with as well as merch you might actually want.

Horde Loot Crate

I've been at this art game for a long time. So long it's all I know how to do. I've done a lot during these 16 years which includes mailing out calendars, cards, artwork and all sorts of other things.
I'm not the greatest sales man but I am consistently showing up, doing my thing and I've gained some long time fans from it. They keep me going forward and looking to the future.

One of my weaknesses though is being able to consistently create products and ship them out. I realize that this isn't my strength so you can imagine how excited and happy I am that there is a team that is dedicating themselves to JUST that very thing. It's a couple out in Michigan that I recently discovered, or they discovered me. Either way, we got to talking they volunteered to help grow the Horde and Loot Crates are step one.

I'm very excited about this because I've seen al lot of the work they have been doing for the Horde and it's sharp. They make my art look even better.

We are taking orders on these loot crates until the end of the month. If you want to get one, follow this like to my ko-fi page. https://ko-fi.com/s/340192c43d

Have a great weekend

Buy a Coffee for a Print Day #1

Would you like to get a print in the mail? It's as easy as buying me a coffee on ko-fi and lasts a lot longer than a cup of coffee. Art for your wall.

For today only, August 18th 2026 I am going to mail out a print to everyone that buys or donates on my ko-fi page. The print will be randomly chosen by me and mailed out by the end of the week.

There is also an added perk to this for you - by donating or buying me a coffee you not only get that print in the mail, you also unlock access to the gated content that I will start posting on ko-fi.

Time to put the leaderboard features and all the other ko-fi capabilities to the test.

So - who wants art?

Shedding the Slump

Today I started to sketch in a live stream for the first time in a long time. It was good, went' well enough and this zombie with a smiling freak popping out of its head is one of the things I drew.

Straight up ink on paper.
If you ever want to watch me livestream, click the twitch link on the side and follow me there.
In other news, the subscription crates will be launching soon and I am once again open for commissions. Hit me up with your art needs.

Saying Goodbye . . .

or is it good buy? By that I mean someone has gone to my ebay store and bought the Skull Cup Zombie painting along with a few ACEO, which is really cool on one hand but now I don't own this artwork any longer.

It truly is one of my favourites and one of the first zombie cup head creatures and is probably one of those level up artworks. The dude got a good deal now that I really think about it, and funny story is that I actually double listed it - one was higher than the other and I had to delete the higher one lol
So yeah - good deal indeed.
I've been learning how to price my work better and have been working on offering art at all sorts of price ranges. Hoping to start listing some of the larger works soon while I continue grinding on the socials. Threads is paying off

Last bit of news is that today was my highest sales day so far. Onwards and upwards!

the Reading Dead

Another day in the wraps and not enough art was done. A lot of behind the scenes stuff was accomplished as well as a bit of networking and shameless self promotion.

Go buy my art on eBay! https://www.ebay.ca/usr/artistbyron

I did a search for zombie painting on eBay and my art was the top result so that's pretty cool.
In other news the project manager has been steadily working on new Horde merch and the designs are looking fantastic - I look forward to getting a sample in the mail in the coming weeks. I'll be sure to model it for you - this is a horror blog after all.

Anyways - that's it
comment or follow or keep scrolling - pretty sure it's only bots that are visiting right now anyways :)

10 Zombies in a Horde

Not the worlds largest update today but updating today to say that today got an update.
Do you dig this update?
For those wondering this is a drawing of 10 zombies that I am creating to give to a dude that has collected 10 of my zombies.
I try to reward those that support me and my art journey with more art.

Moaning on a Monday

Good Morning and welcome to the not quite so daily zombie blog. I'm your host, Byron. I'm not the devil and I ain't no god, I'm just a dude that likes to draw the undead. I really don't even have much to say right now. I'm in a rut and a bit of a slump and it's hard ASF to get out of.

Which is why I draw and paint. It helps me get out of my own headspace. Sometimes I don't know what to draw or just don't feel like drawing so I take old art and give it a refresh. Like the Red Devil - I enhanced the colours and animated the background ad here we are.

This is one of the few FEMALE zombies that I've drawn. I notice that females draw more females than males, and some males draw more male than females. Then there are the naughty ones that like to draw the naked men and women. I've never been a huge fan of that myself and when I do draw them naked, it's only implied.
This lobotomized dude is also naked. Trust.

I'll end todays blog with this bald angry looking zombie. I have drawn happy zombies and sad zombies but the raging angry zombies are the most common.

Thanks for your time - please leave a comment

Some Days . . .

It's hard to restart things that didn't quite work but should have. Lessons learned, experience gained, regrets regretted. Right now it feels like I wasted a lot of opportunities in my efforts to survive this life and provide for my family. Even today while doing this blog post I get this over whelming feeling of existential dread and it makes me want to go back to bed. Sleep it off and hope it all works out okay.
I know that's not how the world works and I know that if I want to get ahead I need to do the work, etc etc yadda yadda

What I also now know is that I really need to work all the angles - not just the physical but also the digital art collectors. Time to gamify things and reward the deserving.

It's not just fun and ganes trying to be a full time living artist. It's more work than you'd expect.

It's been a minute . . .

 Hey there!

I wonder how many people are still artound this old place. It really doesn't matter though .. .  restarts, fresh rebeginnings and other made up words that conjure up a rebirth.
Heard it done it this aint the third or fourth restart -  but that's how viruses go.

The infection first took hold of me back in 2009 - we got proof - and then it spread onto the internet. It had flare ups and spread into different internet communities and onto different internet platforms. There were flareups here and there with the Google Plus (long gone now) being the biggest source of new zombies for the Horde . . . until the blockchain came around and plunged me and the Horde down a rabbit hole I never knew existed but always knew I wanted.

It was during the time of the global quarantine that forced me to look at alternative ways to spread the message of the Horde. Lockdown and pandemic measures where in place, so conventions were out.
The came the call to crypto. Unexpected and weirdly enough, at just the right time. I concentrated heavily on the WAX blockchain which was great fun and helped me build a great community of people that enjoyed. the darker side of art. The blockchain let me give my art away freely and others could go and sell it for profit. It made more sense at the time. It was fun - I learned a lot of lessons.

But now after so long on the blockchain it is time to once again get grass roots and start building up the Horde the way it began. This time I have help and in the past 17 years so many doors have opened and offers to help been issued - its time to cash in some of those chips and let the Horde grow into the global phenomenon we all know it should be.

There will be heavy concentration on gamifying my artwork, my posting, and everything else we can think of gamifying to make it fun for you to be a part of the Horde, and reward you when you support us. I have learned that the Horde is more than just me. I am the Horde, but you are also the Horde. Together we are the Horde.

More updates coming as I can think of them. Please be sure to start following the ko-fi page for the excitement we can bring to those that want a little extra fun.

big plans. . . . BIG BIG plans

Back to the Ko-fi

We have opened up a NEW and improved Ko-fi page and here's the social media banner for it.

It's mostly being managed by Perry with my artwork and input.
I know I used it before and I really am thankful for all the friends that have bought me coffee in the past. It feels kinda silly to open a new ko-fi page after I spent so much time just trying to get people to follow it.

But there it is. It's gone because.
 .
.
.
Now that I'm getting back to work, with HELP that I haven't had before, we needed to get a new revenue source as quickly as possible. Perry and the ZOBs are working hard on the Zazzle store as well as colouring books and other secretive projects that I can't talk about, but these are all long term projects that will generate passive income down the road.

The last thing I want to do is make posts asking people for money, but I also realize that a lot of people like to give tips when they get a cool kick ass zombie portrait for free. So this is the way they can do it.

I'm trying really hard not to get verbose and explain why it's okay that I do this. I don't know why I always feel like I have to justify my every action, but I do. MEntal Fuckery in my hEAD.

anyways, the Zombie Factory Ko-fi STOP ... go there. Get a free colouring book.

Zombie Avatar

This is the first Zazzle Zombie portrait that I made in to an avatar. I plan on doing something similar with all my zombie portraits. So ... find https://fb.me/ByronsZombieFactory and post your face if you want one too.

First come first to be zombified

the FIRST Zazzle Zombie

It is finished, warts and all. I could probably tweak this for days and still not be 100% satisfied.

Thanks to Perry though, I have said it's done and I'm ready for the next zombie portrait attempt.
Mixed emotions trying to draw a portrait for the first time this year.
I don't know how well, or poorly, I did on this portrait but it was fun.
Perry is going to make a post over at the Ko-fi page for the Zombie Factory.
(i know, I had one before and closed it down. This ko-fi page is different. It's about whatever Perry wants to talk about regarding the operations of The Zombie Factory. He'll tell you more over there sometime today.
He's happy with the image, I'm on the fence and anxious to know what the victim thinks.
There's a lot of symbolism in this template. I am excited about this new direction things are heading

Here's the final image, and the basic template for the first shirt design.
After I was happy with it (as happy as I can be right now)
I went to Zazzle and put it on a Tshirt

I also put the same design on posters and postcards
Economical options for anyone.
I can also do coffee cups, stickers and more.
So what you want?
:)

In case you're wondering, Zazzle Zombies are zombie portraits I created by hand then make them available to purchase as prints or shirts or whatever other product Zazzle carries. That way I know for sure you get the poster or shirt, and I don't have to stress myself out.

So ... who wants to get a zombie portrait on a shirt?
Find the Zombie Factory Page and find out how :)

Zombie Themed LAMPS

yeah, that's right. I made some lamps :)

Zazzle lets me make some really cool and interesting items. I wish I could actually afford to buy some of the things I'm making. Maybe one day ... but for now I'm enjoying the process of creating, and building a zazzle store filled with Zombie Themed Merchandise that is available around the world.

I'm mildly discombobulated today because I went on facebook to answer some messages and got caught up in some memories and remorse ... getting out of that by completing little tasks on Zazzle to get my store looking nicer. I really want to try to put portraits on shirts ... would you be interested in that?

If you are ... leave a comment in the comments section.
If you're really serious ... leave your photo too (or a link to your face) and I'll try to do one today.

Thank You for the Support!

Still a lot of experimental learning going on in my life. If anyone actually follows these updates from the blog, you're super cool and I'd really love a shout out in the comments. If you only read this when it's posted on facebook, I'm still staying away from most social media, specifically facebook and instagram, except for the auto posting. So if you comment in facebook, I probably won't see it and if I do, I most likely won't respond. #faq

Amidst all the lesson learning failures are a few peaks of awesome ... like when someone in Indiana USA bought this green skull drama magnet.
That same person also bought this super cool 30 zombie cat pattern coffee mug.

That, was a nice positive perk.
(((if YOU, the person that bought that cup, can take a picture of it when you get it, and send it to me, I would love to put it on my website somewhere. I'll mail you a postcard if you do ;)   ))))

A few days later someone bought an birthday card.
ANOTHER POSITIVE BOOST!! Woo Hoo!

I might not be making huge bank with small sales, but it's a start. And I like selling without the worry of shipping or any of the other business. I create some interesting artwork, put that artwork on a wide range of products. Someone can buy it, get it shipped to them without me having to worry about it. And I get a small but fair profit. It's a neat feeling, these little bursts of positivity. They're addictive and I want more. I want positive in my life all the time ...
..
..
.D E E P    B R E A T H ..
..
..
So I have begun focusing as much of my time as possible on building my zazzle store. I don't have time for social media but I know social media is needed. I'm working on my Pinterest board, and the zombie cat  pinterest board, but mostly on automatic. I want to tend to them more as time goes on, so if you do the pinterest thing, I'd love a follow or whatever.

As for the blog, I'm going to keep at it and turn it into a "what's new in the Zombie Factory" blog and my own personal journey as an online store owner. I have a few other ideas but I can't give any away.

The rest of my social media will be taken over by Perry Belmon and the SOBS. They're controlling any of my facebook or instagram posts that may or may not happen, now or in the future. It's kind of complicated but I've been convinced that they'll be good for me and my business. What do I know?

And that was long winded. Thanks again for buying my zazzle products.
Now would be a great time for someone to start affiliate selling for me ;)
Big profits to be made through Zazzle and your own hard work.
#justsaying

Have a great week coming up people, thanks for reading. Say hi in the comments

The Zombie Cats . . .

I'm slowly building inventory up in my Zazzle stores. It takes more time than you'd think. Today I thought I would spend some time playing around with the free standing (that's what I call them) Zombie Cats. I made a neat collage and put it on a Zombie Cat Tote Bag.
Then I liked it so much, I put another zombie cat collage on the other side.

So now there's a really cool, stylish, zombie cat filled tote bag in my zazzle store :)

Time to make a lot more because that's what I do now lol

Zombie Puzzles . . .

Because nothing can pass the time like putting together a zombie puzzle. I have a whole bunch of puzzles available in my zazzle store here.

If you would rather solve the mystery of the zombieCAT puzzle instead, find them here

Still building my stores on Zazzle. It's a full time job just working on the products, not to mention the designing and promoting. I have some good people helping me along the way, and the big push is gong to be on Pinterest.
If you want to help me out, find the zombie cats here

and the zombies are all here

I don't know much about pinterest yet, but im learning.

Lastly ... thanks to the 'unknown' and Corvid for posting in my comments.
So much appreciation :)
