Zombie Mario Magnets

Hey guys ... I'm really enjoying the offline life ... it took me about 2 months to really clear my head of things and now I'm getting back in to the whole 'work from home artist' lifestyle again. That means I'm busting my ass downstairs making stuff out of stuff and creating new artworks.
The only problem with being offline so much is that when it comes time to try to sell something, I don't have a very good method of posting it online for sale. It's something I'm working on so please be patient.

Now ... some of the things I've been doing is making magnets ... all sorts of magnets at all sorts of sizes, using materials I have lying around already, so I don't have to buy to much new stuff.

Pennywise

business demons

The high cost of doing business ... it's a tough gig being a working artist, and resetting after a breakdown is hard, but I think it would have been even harder to get going again if the internet was still running at home ... now without it I have been forced to take a step back and look at what it was doing to my life.

Monica said it was too much, I didn't see it though ... now I do ... for the first time in over 20 years I am without home internet and I love it.

Getting a Head

As some of you might know already, I've become addicted to drawing and painting skulls. This is one of the more recent skull paintings I created. It's mostly acrylic paint on a 5"x5" piece of 300lb cold pressed watercolor paper.

I really like how there are just 2 colors that define this skull ... and for some reason my black signature at the bottom actually makes the rest of the painting pop out a bit. You see there is darkness without any black. Does that even make sense?

cleaning house ...

There's nothing like a mid life crisis and a murderous brain to really get a person thinking, which is often a bad thing ... and now that I've hit rock bottom ... again, it's time to change everything and start over, because OBVIOUSLY things haven't been working out very well going the way they have been going.

Blind

I drew this late last year, prior to losing the internet at home. I wasn't in the best place mentally and I didn't quite know why at the time ... things are better now of course but it's always going to be a work in progress. At least I'm starting to enjoy the work again ...

I really enjoy skulls and I really don't like the churchy types knocking on my door, causing my dog to start barking which made me nearly spit out my coffee and scared the shit out of Felix the Cat who hid under the bed for an hour.
This image is for those 2 boys that a grumpy old man yelled "AWWGETOUTTAHERE!" too.

I gave you a story to tell and you gave me inspiration for this piece :)

Melted and Remade

For a while in December I was on a major skull drawing and painting kick, partly inspired by the late great Jed Leiknes, who sadly, suffered from depression which caused him to take his own life just before christmas. His death hit me harder than I expected, and I didn't even know the guy ... had only just started following him on instragram a few months prior, but damn he had talent.

I am now starting to paint skulls on canvas, this is one of my first 8x10 mixed media on stretched canvas
